Both share an England origin connection and chatted about “home” and hair! Katrina, despite non-stop shooting schedules, looked her gorgeous self. But it was her lustrous tresses that caught Sam’s attention. Informing her that global consumer research showed that 77 per cent of women admit to having damaged hair, Sam warned that a combination of factors like sun exposure, chemical treatments and mechanical damage from combing and using a dryer contributed to that. “How do I know if my hair is damaged?” Kat asked the expert. One of the most noticeable signs of damaged hair is dullness, he said, and hair shine is impacted by hair alignment. “Misaligned hair scatters in different angles, giving the hair a duller, less intense shine, while smooth hair reflects light in a more unified manner, giving hair a more intense shine,” replied Sam.

“Well, dull hair is just not an option for me,” said the actress confidently. “My hair has to shine all the time... and miraculously, it does!” Sam smiled, “It’s a miracle – because you expose your hair to so much damage and yet it looks so healthy! It’s Pantene, isn’t it?”

Flashing a smile, Katrina confirmed, “Yes, it’s the Pantene 3 minute miracle... three months of damage just disappears in three minutes.”

After a slew of out and out comedies like Namastey London, Partner and Singh Is Kinng, Katrina Kaif is now working on two "difficult" films - Prakash Jha’s political drama Rajneeti and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

"This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing - Rajneeti and Ajab Prem... are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process," said Katrina. The films are slated for release this year.

In Ajab Prem... Katrina shares screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Upen Patel, while in Rajneeti she stars alongside a bevy of actors including Ranbir, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar and Manoj Bajpai.

Katrina says that Santoshi’s dedication and "knack for making his actors win national awards" is something that makes her want to work hard for his film.

"Ajab Prem... is a very different film. Raj-ji is a taskmaster on the sets and the results of that are visible. I need to dedicate enough time and attention to this film because I think the movie is going to be very special and very important for me. It’s nothing like I have done before," said the 24-year-old actress.

Katrina shares similar sentiments for Jha, who has helmed films like Gangajal and Apaharan in the past.

"Prakash Jha is highly intelligent and highly interested in his project. A film like Rajneeti is not something where I can just jump and say - ’Sir, my hair is done, my costume is done and I’m ready’, something I can do in most films that are comic capers.

"For films like his, one has to research clothes. I can’t decide on my own what I want to wear or what I would prefer. I have to follow the character I am playing. Rajneeti is a very grounded, a very rooted film, and so I am going to be dedicating a little more time as the project requires it," she said.

In Rajneeti Katrina sports a simple and de-glamourised look in a crisp cotton sari and with her hair neatly tied in a ponytail. Though the look bears resemblance to Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, the director has denied that her role has anything to do with the senior leader.

Though Katrina has mostly starred in comedies like Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng (Vipul Shah), Partner (David Dhawan) and Welcome (Anees Bazmee) in her over five-year-old career, she says she "might not be doing another comedy, fun, masti film very dedicatedly any time soon".

Apart from Rajneeti and Ajab Prem..., Katrina has Yash Raj Film’s New York, Anthony D’Souza’s Blue and also a two-film deal with production house UTV in her kitty.

Katrina Kaif is into health foods and diets these days and wants to put all that thought into a restaurant which will serve her favourite food. Talking about her dream project, Kat says, "I want to open a restaurant in partnership. I am on the lookout for a business Partner. I don’t have the time to handle the day-to-day nitty-gritty of the business though I do intend being there as much as possible.

My Partner would have to be someone who has experience in the restaurant business and will be able to give his time as I am a novice in this field. Hopefully, I should clinch a deal soon." The actress is clear about what she wants. "I want the restaurant to be styled and designed something along the lines of a London or New York high-end coffee shop somewhere classy and cool.

It will be along the lines of a coffee house/bar/lounge/ restaurant dealing with specialised international cuisine. The restaurant will be in Bandra. I want my place to serve really good coffees. It’s sometimes difficult to get a really good cappuccino which I love here."

Katrina wants her place to have a comfortable feel where people can meet and hang out during the day and come to for a great dinner at night. "There will be several comfortable couches and chairs to sit on and read books and stuff and the perfect place to go, get work done and then relax over several coffees or drinks."

Katrina Kaif Just because Katrina Kaif wears a sari and plays a politician doesn’t mean her character in Rajniti is similar to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, alleges director Prakash Jha .

He’s the man who’s being credited for de-glamourising Asia’s sexiest woman by casting her as “behenji” exercising her political muscle in ‘Rajniti’. But little did Prakash Jha anticipate that Katrina’s new makeover would spark a plethora of rumours about her role’s similarity to that of Sonia Gandhi.

“There was nothing common between Katrina’s character and Mrs Gandhi,” Jha, who recently wrapped up the shooting of ‘Rajniti’ in Bhopal, is quoted by a news agency as saying.

In a truly royal style, Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif doled out Rs 5 lakh among the crew members of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani . The reason – she was “happy”.

It was the last day of the shoot for Rajkumar Santoshi ’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ at Film City and Katrina was in a generous mood.

It’s reported that immediately after the completion of the shoot, the actress went inside her vanity van and came out with wads of cash, which she distributed among all the unit members (even spotboys), as the actress was happy and wanted to share her happiness with others. The sweet gesture became sweeter when she personally went to meet everyone of the crew and gave the money. Katrina was apparently happy because of the hard work put in by the unit – the prolonged hours and stressful days were managed well which led to Katrina’s appreciation for the unit. This was Katrina’s gesture to express gratitude towards the crew.

Even director Rajkumar Santoshi was taken aback by Katrina’s generosity.

The gesture is the same as the one by her beau Salman Khan who showers his affection and love whenever he feels like. A few months back when the shooting of Yuvvraaj wrapped up, Salman invited everyone from the unit for a dinner together.

‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
