Aishwarya Rai It seems Katrina Kaif’s cozy days are over as sensuous Aishwariya Rai is coming up with good films that is to go on release very soon.   With few slop down in graph after marriage the tough Aishwariya is ready to get over her former regime in Bollywood with good lot of films in her arms to get set for release on screen this year very soon. As much hype is winding around her Mani Ratnam’s flick ‘Ravaan’ in which she is staring opposite her hubby Abhishek Bachchan while her another upcoming flick ‘Action Replayy’ opposite Akshay Kumar by Vipul Shah are expected to soon set the screen on fire.   Though even Katrina is also decked up against her with her much talk about ‘Raajneeti’ by Prakash Jha, opposite Bollywood flame Ranbir Kapoor in a new challenging role of a political figure and as well as with her lucky mascot Akshay in ‘Tees Mar Khan’ directed by Farah Khan may prove to stand against her.   Lets watch what time has to prove in account of these two ladies whom it favors the most at the year end’s result.

Mumbai: April 20, 2010 - Bollywood star Katrina Kaif who has always voiced her support towards fighting for the cause of female infanticide recently inaugurated the opening of the “Little Darlings Programme” –meant for the care of abandoned toddlers.

Following in her philanthropic mother - Suzanne Turquotte’s footsteps the beautiful Katrina Kaif took a private charter from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu to make her presence felt as she visited the Claretian Mercy Home run by the CESSS in partnership with Relief projects India (RPI) and Sisters of Charity of St.Mary.

The name of the department that provides skill development facilities to the children who are in the toddler age bracket was coined by Katrina who has actively participated in all the services of Claretine Mercy Home.

Reveals a source at Claretian Mercy Home “It is touching to see Katrina work here with us in spite of being the star that she is. She has won a place in all our hearts”

Katrina Kaif who was the pioneer in having her brands tie-up with charitable causes was present to extend her support for a program that would nurture abandoned babies with all the possible nutritional and health care, directly over see the education and growth of differently-able children and also in the near future start a separate home for those infants who are unlikely to be adopted.

Katrina’s says, “ I love kids and hence this is a cause that is very dear to me. I am immensely proud of my mothers work and only hope to be of a greater support. “

Katrina Kaif the flavor of the season has her hands full this year with Rajneeti, Tees Maar Khan, Dostana 2 and her plethora of brands. However the star has always managed to take out time to pursue her humanitarian efforts.

Mumbai, Apr 27 (PTI) Katrina Kaif will be seen romancing Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan for the first time in Zoya Akhtar’s film ’Zindagi Milegi Na Dubara’.

The actress, who has given several hits with superstar Akshay Kumar and has shared screen space with top Bollywood actors including Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, says she is excited to work with Roshan.

"It’s a brilliantly written script and I am looking forward to working with Hrithik. I don’t know him at all. The film will go on floors in three weeks from now after the release of ’Kites’. The movie has the ability to emerge as progressive new cinema," Katrina told PTI.

The title ’Zindagi...’ works very much in favour of the movie as it is a fun, youthful film...telling that you get a chance to live only once, she said.

Ranbir Kapoor
Whatever may it be whether you name it romance or friendship between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif but they are inseparable as now they are planning to fire the platform of the Grand Finale ‘Dance India Dance’ in small screen for the first time.   Reportedly it is heard that the grand finale of nation’s popular TV show organized by Zee TV will be the graced by the hot pair Ranbir and Katrina. On account of their appearance in small screen together, a source confirmed, “Kat and Ranbir will be accompanied by their co-star Ajay Devgn, and director Prakash Jha. Ekta Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor and Sunil Shetty will also grace the occasion.”   Here in this show Punit from Remo’s team, Remo Ke Rangeele, Shakti from Terrence Lewis’ team, Terrence Ki Toli, Binny from Geeta Kapoor’s team Geeta Ki Gang and Dharmesh is also from Geeta Kapoor’s team and runs a dance academy in Vadodra will be taking over in the final round.   This will be an unforgettable experience for the audience to see the hot pair coming alive in small screen to boost the spirit of the youngsters.

‘Rajneeti’ is the highly awaited film that’s itching to be unleashed this summer on the Bollywood screen. It is being talked about as the landmark film for Katrina Kaif who plays the most challenging and difficult role of her life in this political saga.

Speaking about the labour (especially on her Hindi dialogues) that she has put in for this Prakash Jha film, she humbly says that she has tried her best with every film. In her own words, “When one works in a serious film people think that maybe more work has gone into it. But the fact is that to make a successful film is the hardest thing. Every film of mine which has been a success has been equally hard – be it ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Singh is Kinng’ or ‘New York’ and ‘Raajneeti’. Whether it’s a comedy or a serious film, moviemaking is a serious business and there is lot of money dragging on it. I give it my 100 percent.”

On a more personal note, is she really going to tie the knot after 2 years, as she had said? Katrina blows the candle off and quenches the issue as she quips, “Actually I am the one to blame. I was the one who had said that maybe I would be married in two years time. But things are different now and there is still time before I get married. As the saying goes, ‘man proposes, God disposes’, every time we make a plan God changes it.”

“I have learnt not to make plans in life, because a lot of time you make a plan that is not going to work for you. Right now I am working on my career and trying to be genuine to my work. If you respect what you have got, God will give you what you need,” she signs off.

Overall, she is a great woman if not for her acting, then, most definitely for her commitment. Aur ek baar jab usne commitment kar di, fir to wo apne aap ki bhi nai sunti. Right, Mr. Salman Khan?

Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Farah Khan together in one film! It’s a perfect recipe for success. Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan is one film that’s been doing rounds from the day it was announced. Talking about outfits, Kat actually went through a special diet and workout routine to look a certain way for the film. She is all set to show her sexy side in this film. Now doesn’t she look fab in that ghagra choli. Remember!

Katrina Kaif
has always been the lucky charm for Akshay, what with films like Namastey London, Singh is Kinng and Welcome being superhits at the Box Office. Well Akki, Tees Maar Khan is gonna be one lucky trip for you then.

Anurag Basu is all geared up to make a film on the 50s love story of Kishore Kumar and Madhubala and he has Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif on his plate. While Ranbir will be essaying the character of the multi-talented genius Kishore Kumar; Katrina, reportedly, will sketch out Madhubala’s life. In fact, Katrina has already started to do some homeworks as she is watching the classic films of the beauty queen Madhubala. Anurag, on the other hand, is not ready to dish out details about the film. He secretively says, “I think it’s a little early to talk about it. I still haven’t got the principal cast of my current project, Silence, in place. But yes, Katrina is someone I am very, very fond of…for her looks, talent and nature. I am definitely working with her, if not in Silence, then in my next film.” Now, the most significant question is if Katrina will be able to do justice to this role? May be, an Aishwarya Rai (being the epitome of beauty and talent) would have befitted the role…..but then, of course, she can’t be paired opposite a very young Ranbir Kapoor. In any case, we will keep track on the reports and keep spoon-feeding you with the latest updates…….You can meanwhile ponder over the question if Ranbir and Kats will succeed in resurrecting the immortal romance from the Bollywood shores…….

On April 7, Katrina Kaif recorded an album of nursery rhymes for the
music company Sa Ra Ga Ma. The entire earnings from the album would be
used to build a school for toddlers in Madurai.

This is the first time in her life that Katrina has sung professionally. And according to music-company sources, she has done a commendable job. There are now plans for Katrina to do an album of love songs.

Exhausted but content, Katrina says, "It’s a fun album for kids, something I always wanted to do, to deepen my connectivity with kids. I had a ball recording the numbers. I haven’t laughed so much for a very long time."

What Katrina won’t say out loud is that the inspiration for the children’s album is her 3-year-old niece Maya, her eldest sister’s child with whom she has developed an indelible bond.

Maya whom Katrina acknowledges as the most important person in her life, is indeed the inspiration for the kids’ album and the actress’ desire to help the cause of economically and emotionally deprived children.

The album entitled Rhymeskool to be released later this year will contain nursery rhymes and fun songs aimed at little children. While recording for the album, Katrina remembered all the fun she had when she was with Maya in London for Christmas and New Year.

Says the proud maasi, "Maya’s innocent laughter is with me constantly. I want some of Maya’s happiness to go to other children who are perhaps not as well-off as she is." Katrina’s funds from the Rhymeskool album will be immediately deflected to Madurai so that her dream school is built without delay.

Says Katrina, "It isn’t in good taste to talk about these things. It’s just a tiny school for toddlers being built next to the orphanage that my mom runs in Madurai."

Katrina is keen to be married so she can have her own children. "I give myself 4-5 more years in the industry. Then I’ll get married and have babies."

She intends to expand her charity work in the coming months and years. "The important thing is to make sure your charity efforts are well-utilized. I want to help causes where I can see an immediate result. Like the money from my album going into building a toddlers’ school."

After playing a quasi-biographical character in Raajneeti, Katrina Kaif is set to play a real-life character - Madhubala. Katrina will reprise the legendary actress’ role in the Kishore Kumar biopic to be directed by Anurag Basu.

Katrina was finalised for the project after she opted out of Basu’s other film, Silence, in which she was to co-star with Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor.

A source says, “Katrina couldn’t do two back-to-back projects with Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor. So she picked the biopic on Kishore Kumar in which she will play Madhubala.”

While she was considering her option back then, Katrina had said, “If I do another film with Ranbir, I’d want it to be a full-fledged commercial love story.” And it can’t get any more mainstream and romantic than the Kishore Kumar-Madhubala saga.

In fact, the actress has already begun doing her homework for the role and watched Mughal-e-Azam, Mahal and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.

While Katrina chose not to reply, Anurag says guardedly, “I think it’s a little early to talk about it. I still haven’t got the principal cast of my current project, Silence, in place.

But yes, Katrina is someone I am very, very fond of...for her looks, talent and nature. I am definitely working with her, if not in Silence, then in my next film.”

One of the song sequences from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi that Anurag Basu’s film will be looking to recreate is the Kishore-Madhubala song Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si.
