Fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala, who happens to be Katrina Kaif’s trainer, says given a choice, the actor would never exercise. She says, “She dislikes working out. But being in an industry where acting, looking good and having a super body is a prerequisite, one is left with no choice. The important thing is to choose the right exercise and trainer.” Yasmin reveals Katrina’s workouts are a mix of hard work and fun. She does a lot of functional training exercises combined with resistance bands, TRX, Bosu, spinning, and trampoline workouts. She says, “I try to give the exercises funny names like bunny hops, frog jumps, monster walks etc and have a printed workout each time she comes to the gym. This way, she knows exactly what she’s going to do. And if there is something she really dislikes, I substitute it with something else.” Katrina does full-body workouts with cardio interspersed, as she hates doing only cardio.

KatrinaAre there any specific challenges while working with a celebrity? She says, “The toughest task is when she comes to the gym after a day of shooting. I know that she’s tired and totally disinterested and have to plan the workout in a way that works for her.” On such days, pilates work the best since it is the perfect combination of stretch and strength and whose “breathing energises.” Yasmin feels the best thing about Katrina is her focus and dedication: “If she wants to look a certain way for a movie, she doesn’t shy away from working towards it.”

It’s not just the bikini that Katrina Kaif has a problem with in Dhoom 3. It is learnt that Kat is now expressing her reservation over a kiss scene as well.

While the franchise had a kissing scene in the last film between Hrithik and Aishwarya, this time around, Kaif is putting in a special request to do away with the scene. Will Aditya Chopra give in?

img9In an industry that is still slave to dynasty and lineage, a British-Asian girl emerges from nowhere and attains vertiginous heights in Bollywood.

Katrina Kaif has defied all conventional film wisdom - she barely spoke Hindi, her acting skills came up for debate and she is politically correct in interviews to the point of boredom. But Katrina has the X-factor, accentuated by an angelic face and a body that could tempt the devil. Who else could pull off a raunchy Sheila ki Jawaani with lyrics like ’khudko pyaar karoon main’ with such playful innocence?

Katrina’s box-office track record is enviable, as proved again recently by Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Considered a good luck mascot, she is much in demand and is probably among the few actresses who can boast of working with all the Khans. But her superstar status today is by no means a fluke.

Perhaps the fact that Katrina has not grown up with a sense of entitlement, like other star kids, has contributed to her success. She never seems take her success for granted. Directors vouch for her commitment, and her acting skills and diction have amped up over the years. And she seems to have mastered the art of Khan management. No mean feat, if you think about it.

Katrina has delicately worked around temperamental boyfriends, bloated egos and fickle relationships and built goodwill that spans diverse camps. Yet for all her astute networking, few seem to know the real Katrina. Vague information filters in about her past, she hides behind a veneer of correctness. What we don’t know about her just seems to add to her mystique.

The early days
Katrina first floated into the industry with her debut, Kaizad Gustad’s Boom (2003). The director though, refuses to talk about his discovery as he tersely says, "I don’t want to hurt anyone."

Boom’s producer Ayesha Shroff is more forthcoming, "During the course of some research, Kaizad chanced upon her. He tells me that a few days later, she went to his house and asked him, ’I’m interested in India.

Do you think I have a future in India as a model or in films?’ She came down to Mumbai, auditioned and got the role. I think she had done some modeling in London. I thought she would have a career here. At that time, there was nobody with a good body, no one was wearing bikinis."

But where did Kaizad meet her? Ayesha refuses to say. "I can’t talk about it. What’s the point? What she has achieved is admirable and it’s not easy for a woman to pull herself out of nothing and make such a huge name for herself."

What she does talk about is how Katrina got her last name. "Her passport says Turquotte. We created an identity for her. She was this pretty young English girl, and we gave her the Kashmiri father and thought of calling her Katrina Kazi. We thought we’d give her some kind of Indian ancestry, to connect with the audience. Those times were different, now people are more accepting. But then we thought that Kazi sounded too... religious? We were to introduce her to the press and at that time, Mohammad Kaif was at the top, and so we said, Katrina Kaif sounds really great. In fact, the brochures for the press say Katrina Kazi. We passed that off saying, ’Oh that’s a printing mistake," says Ayesha.

Is Katrina in touch with her? "No. But that’s a personal choice. What hurts me is that she distances herself from Boom. When Boom released, she was seeing Salman, she dismissed her debut saying she didn’t know what she was doing and so she did the bikini scene, the smooching scene. No one put a gun to anybody’s head. She is a very intelligent young woman, she knows what she has going and doesn’t want to jeopardize it."

The rise
After Boom, her early success was David Dhawan’s Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and later Partner, both starring Salman. The director fondly recalls, "She was young when I met her, but her presence was very strong. She’s very beautiful. She barely knew enough Hindi to save her skin. But her dedication was very strong and she was a good learner. She had the making of a heroine."

Dhawan says that it was her attention to scenes and rehearsals that was endearing. She didn’t throw tantrums and she was friendly and warm. He adds with a laugh, "I took her for granted when we shot Partner. She hasn’t changed, so much respect she gives me. She is looking very good, is still very insecure and that is important for an actor. It becomes difficult to hold on and live up to the success tag."

Salman at that time was always teaching her a thing or two on the sets, but the director insists, "Just being in someone’s good books doesn’t work. The audience really loves her."

This sentiment is echoed by her Tees Maar Khan director Farah Khan, "Katrina has the X-factor. There are prettier girls who haven’t made it. She has the same fire that actresses like Sridevi and Madhuri had. The audiences love her, especially the kids."

Farah adds that no one promotes a film like Katrina does. And that she has never heard Katrina backbite. She says, "Katrina stresses about the way she looks. But she never frets over petty issues like my vanity van is too small."

Though Akshay Kumar had recommended her, Farah was initially hesitant, "I thought they’d done too many films together." On the sets, Farah was no closer to knowing Katrina intimately. She laughs, "I don’t think anyone in the industry really knows her, give or take one or two people. But I’ve met her mother. Katrina is quite the family girl."

Managing relationships
Akshay and Katrina’s chemistry had also proved to be a hit with films like Namastey London and Singh is Kinng. In past interviews, she has acknowledged Akshay and Salman’s contribution to her career. She makes for a good leading lady with the younger heroes like Ranbir and Imran as well. And she can boast of a Yash Raj film with Shah Rukh and Dhoom 3 with Aamir. Add to the that, she has the instinct for the right scripts and working with the right people.

To maintain relationships with the big boys of Bollywod calls for immense dexterity. Her dignified silence and denials about link-ups has ensured that she doesn’t tread on anyone’s toes. There were reports of Salman having slapped her at a coffee shop in 2008, but she denied the incident. Now as they shoot for Ek Tha Tiger in Ireland, they are reportedly fond of each other and there is no bitterness as they shoot together.

In an earlier interview with Mumbai Mirror, she said, "All my life I have judged my worth by how much I have been loved by a man. It’s so with a lot of women, that their self-esteem is measured by how much they are loved by a man, their partner, their boyfriend or may be their husband. In my case, it may be because I grew up without my father. But now that I am more mature and not eighteen any more, I have learnt to overcome that and understand that I have my own destiny and life." Destiny’s child has come into her own.

Ex-beaus Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have started shooting for their upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger under Yash Raj Films in Dublin.

Salman resumed for shooting after recuperating from a neurological disorder surgery last month. Katrina Kaif is taking special care of him on the sets of the film.
She is very much concerned about his health. Salman too is no different. He too is affectionate towards Katrina.
When Katrina fell from a bicycle during a shooting sequence in the film, it was Salman who instantly rushed to help her.
In the film, Salman essays the role of a secret service agent while Katrina essays the role of a college going girl. Ek Tha Tiger will hit theatres coming June.

As per sources, the babelicious babe was required to ride a bicycle for a particular sequence in the film, and unfortunately, Kaif lost her balance and tripped off the cycle, thereby exposing her panty.
Nevertheless, her former beau and now ‘good friend’ Salman Khan, as usual, came to her rescue at the time of this unfortunate incident.
There’s been no disturbance during the shooting, says Katrina
While earlier tabloids had reported that the unit of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has been troubled by a local union, recently Katrina, the heroine of the film, claimed the reports to be false by stating that there hasn’t been any kind of disturbance during the film’s shooting.
"This is the first time I am hearing of this. What trouble? Which workers’ strike? We’ve been shooting here uninterrupted since we arrived. There’s been absolutely no disturbance of any kind.
“In fact, the local people here are very supportive. They go out of their way to make us feel at home," the actress told reporters.
About ‘Ek Tha Tiger’
The Salman-Katrina starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is being directed by Kabir Khan.
The movie produced by Yash Raj Films is slated to release by June 1, next year

Katrina started her journey with the prominent production house with ‘New York’. The film showed her in a very serious role that critics thought the glam doll would not be able to carry off.
But, she proved them wrong. Kat’s role in the movie, her acting skills were appreciated and applauded.
The Deccan Chronicle quoted an industry analyst, “When YRF offered Kat a serious film like ‘New York’, everyone thought she was going to fall flat on her face. But the movie cleverly played up Kat’s plus points. Now with the brownie points she’s earned for ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, YRF’s faith in her seems to be well- founded.”
Kat does not consider herself to be the chosen one
Now Kat has multiple YRF films coming her way. But Kat refuses to call herself the ‘blue eyed- girl’ of the YRF camp.
Katrina said, “See, we’re all trying to do our best. It’s good to shoot for a film when you have a great script.”

Katrina wins her ‘no-bikini’ clause!
Mumbai: Now, one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif had kick-started her career in the industry as a “bikini-girl” in `Boom`.

The film proved to be a huge dud and so was Katrina’s bikini act. But since then Katrina has walked miles so much so that she has now started calling the shots!

Apparently, Kat has been signed for ‘Dhoom 3’ as the leading lady opposite Aamir Khan.

The earlier franchises of the film had the leading ladies sizzling in bikinis and Kat was required to do the same. But Aditya, the Yash Raj scion seems to have given in to Kat’s convictions just like he did for Ash in `Dhoom 2`.

A source informed a tabloid that Aditya had categorically told Katrina that she would be required to wear a bikini in the film. In the past too, YRF had got Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu to don the two-piece swimwear for `Dhoom` and `Dhoom 2` respectively.

“Whether they did it willingly or reluctantly, nobody knows. But Katrina was extremely reluctant,” said the source.

As reported by the tabloid, the source said, “Aditya is very fond of Katrina and they are very good friends. He had other options, including a few foreign actresses, but Katrina towered above all those options. Katrina managed to convince Aditya that it was not necessary for her to wear a bikini in the film.”

Talking about the entire bikini issue, another source said, “Aditya is not even disappointed. In fact, he is very happy that Katrina is on board. Bikini ka problem shayyad ek hi reason tha that he took so long to finalise the female lead in the film.”

Justifying Katrina’s no-bikini clause, a friend of the actress said, “Today, Katrina is a big star. She adds tremendous value to a project. She is justified in her reservations, if any, when she signs a film.”

Well done girl. That’s like a commanding woman!
Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has lent her smooth silky voice to a children’s nursery rhyme album. Although she will only be heard reciting a line in the Rhyme school children’s nursery rhyme music album, Katrina’s voice makes this album super special.

A.R.Rahman has composed the music. In another bid to shed her sexy ’Sheila Ki Jawani’ image, Katrina will enthrall the kids with her one line rendition. According to the makers of the music album, Kat’s voiceover will be followed by children themselves reciting the various nursery rhymes.

Interestingly, Kat’s new- found fascination for her kiddie fans will also see her lending her voice to the upcoming 3D animation film Main Hoon Krishna. Though she just makes cameo appearances, it does take both the projects to another level when someone as popular as Katrina is associated with it.

Katrina Kaif, so far, has only worn a bikini in her debut film Boom.

The suspense is over. Katrina Kaif has finally agreed to star in Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 opposite Aamir Khan.
The big question that this confirmation throws up is, will cool Kat go ahead with wearing a bikini in the film.
For those who came in late, Katrina was always the first choice for the role. However, a precondition for doing the role was that Katrina would have to wear a two-piece in a couple of scenes in the film.
The superstar actress, despite being eager to work in the film, was reluctant to sport a bikini. While confirming Katrina’s acceptance of the role, the makers of Dhoom 3 did not, however, mention whether she will wear a two- piece in the film.
Earlier, when Katrina was hesitating to do the role, the makers tried scouting for a fresh face.
"We were unable to find the perfect debutante to play the lead role after almost a year of searching. Briefly, we also tried roping in an international actress but were still unable to find someone who would stand out," Vijay Krishna Acharya, director of the film, said . "Both (YRF head honcho) Aditya Chopra and I really wanted to be sure that the actress we chose is perfect for the role. Katrina was an obvious choice for all of us. She is someone who we all know will bring tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to the film. This is also the first time Aamir and Katrina will unite on the screen. That certainly adds value to the project," Vijay said. Barring her debut film Boom , Katrina has refrained from wearing a bikini in her career so far.
In fact in her eight-year career, she has largely avoided excessive skin show. The actress, regarded as the most saleable female star by many, has been following the norm of avoiding bold scenes ever since she started dating Salman Khan.
Katrina was recently seen kissing Hrithik Roshan in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara , but that scene was filmed during the phase when she and Salman had briefly broken up.
The buzz on Dhoom 3 suggests Katrina would not only have to sport a bikini, she may also have to share a passionate smooch with Aamir. The Dhoom films have always had scenes that require the heroines to expose in beachwear and also do intimate scenes.
In the first film, Esha Deol got a hot makeover and was seen flaunting a toned body in a bikini. In Dhoom 2, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan sported two-piece beachwear and also shared a kissing scene with Hrithik Roshan.
Thursday’s decision to go with Katrina for Dhoom 3 was taken after a lot of discussion and several meetings between Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya.
Meanwhile it seems Katrina has become YRF’s new muse.
Her latest YRF production, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan , is already a big hit. The film has grossed Rs 50 crore in less than two weeks. She has two other YRF productions lined up - Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman and Yash Chopra’s comeback directorial feature opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have been shooting in Dublin for Yashraj’s Ek Tha Tiger for nearly two weeks now and the latest gossip from the set is that the two ex-lovers are bonding again.
Salman resumed the shoot of Kabir Khan’s movie immediately post his surgery.
He was suffering from a nerve disorder and was operated in a New Jersey hospital last month.
After recuperating from his illness he began shooting with Katrina Kaif in Dublin.
It is said Katrina is taking good care of Salman on the sets. She often openly shows her concern for his health. On the other hand Salman too is not behind in showing his affection towards Katrina.
From Salman’s recent statement about Katrina, it was clear that he still has a soft corner for her. Once Katrina, who plays a college student in the movie, and Salman, who essays a secret service agent were shooting for a sequence where she had to ride a bicycle.
Katrina fell from the cycle. Seeing this Salman immediately rushed to her rescue before anyone else could.

while shooting one such scene that Katrina slipped and fell down,
taking the bike along with her. It’s hard to say if it was an accident or the fall was a part of the
shoot. But there was indeed a moment of panic among the onlookers as
Katrina slipped and fell down.

The shoot was held on the college campus and had Katrina walking along with a bicycle. Salman joins her and the two take a stroll down the campus.
In the movie, Salman Khan plays a special agent of Indian intelligence services. He is codenamed Tiger. He is sent on an important mission to track down a scientist who is suspected of selling a dangerous missile technology to the terrorists. Katrina Kaif plays a dance student who is also the caretaker of the aforementioned scientist. To get close to the scientist, the agent befriends Katrina and the two fall for each other.

Actors bonding on the sets are not a new phenomenon, but very few manage to maintain their friendship beyond their shooting schedule.
But despite all odds, actor Katrina Kaif and her co-star Ali Zafar have managed to forge and maintain their friendship well beyond their shoots. Apparently the two hit it off pretty well on the sets of their latest film together, and are now good friends even off the sets.
Katrina who is generally an easy going person on the sets, had earlier spoke about the difficulties in maintaining friendship in Bollywood.
The actor had said, “It becomes very difficult to have the same set of people around, as you are constantly on the move. Doing a film takes up so much of your time. When you do a film you get involved in it. For the next three months that unit becomes your family and then once the film wraps up, that world ends. Yes you do make friends, but sometimes that changes as well.”
While she still relies on actor Salman Khan and turns to him for advice, it seems like Kat has found a new BFF in Ali and the duo has managed to keep in touch even post their film.
A source close to Ali says, “Ali treats Kat like a younger sister. He looks after her and makes sure that she is well taken care of. His wife too is very fond of Katrina and looks forward to meeting her.”
Recently, Ali threw a party after the film’s success and invited the entire cast and crew. Katrina was obviously on the list but she had to leave for Dublin on the same day and wasn’t sure if she would be able to attend the party.
“Katrina was to fly to Dublin that same night. But, since Ali had made a special request, she came to the party for a while. Ali, who was very happy to have her around sang a song dedicating it to Kat, before she left. She in turn had a big smile on her face all through the party. They both have now become very close and are almost like family to each other,” the source further adds.

Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif walked the ramp for designers Karan Johar and Varun Bhal.

Topless models displaying shorts and swimwear, A-list celebrities, elaborate sets, an impressive front row and some foot tapping music - the duo of Karan Johar and Varun Bahl pulled out all stops and left no stone unturned at the grand finale of the Van Huesen India Men’s Week (VHIMW).
It doesn’t take much to figure out that any showcasing by Karan Johar, be it TV, film or fashion, necessitates a certain degree of Bollywood presence and support.
It comes as no surprise then that actors and showstoppers Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan stole the spotlight as they walked the runway, dressed stylishly in tailored black suits.
Though Katrina remained the centre of attention, looking glamorous in a sequined blazer, kudos to Imran Khan as well who not only managed to match her stage presence, but also held his own, looking dapper and youthful.
The duo will be seen together soon enough on the big screen in their next release Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, scheduled for release later this month.
With plenty of ’ male cleavage’ on display, bright colours and white linens, the whiff of the Mediterranean breeze was all but obvious in the pro-ducer-designer duo’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
This being their second fashion outing, Karan Johar and Varun Bahl took inspiration from the French Riviera, Côte d’Azur, and also Italian fashion as the dominating influence that underlined their prêt collection which was titled the ’ Mediterranean Dream.’ Cowl neck tees, light weight jackets, linen suits in summer yellow and orange were on display in this semiformal collection with a twist of resort chic.
Neutral shades of beige, ivory and grey teamed with denims, mulmul trousers, structured jackets and flowing cardigans created the perfect combination of the preppy and wearable clothing line.
No menswear collection can be hailed complete without a dose of black and charcoal and so, the duo showcased a good amount of the typically masculine shades in their collection.
Summer layering was highlighted with an interplay of the soft and rigid, the translucent and the solid. Printed silk boxers, luxe silk jerseys, net pullovers and even the oddball sequined silver blazer for men added a dash of glamour to the well received line-up.

(File photo) Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
I knew no one in Bollywood when I started my career. I was an established model but was finding my foot in the film industry.
I was a fresher when I met Salman but he saw a potential and encouraged me in many ways. Salman Khan has supported me right from the beginning of my career and is one of my closest friends till date.
He has taught me the nuances of acting and he was the one who gave me an insight into this industry – how it works and the nitty gritties of it.
However, he has never interfered with my decisions, he has never instructed me about not doing a movie or to sign for a particular project.
It is totally false that he asked me not to work with certain actors. I have a chosen a career that requires me to be in the spotlight all the time.
People keep writing about my personal life and so-called on-and- off relationship with Salman, but it doesn’t bother me anymore as it’s a part and parcel of the entertainment industry. About my relationship status, I am single and Salman is a great friend.
Katrina Kaif, it seems, will finally be seen in the much hyped item number that Karan Johar had planned with the actress in mind for his upcoming biggie Agneepath. The item dance in question is being hyped as a highlight number in the Hrithik Roshan- starrer. In the song, Katrina will be seen shaking a leg with Sanjay Dutt who plays the arch villain Kancha Cheena in the film.

The news about Karan approaching Katrina for the item number started doing the rounds a few weeks ago. However, no sooner did the buzz gain ground, insiders in Katrina’s camp quashed all such reports.

Industry insiders suggest that Katrina’ s reluctance to do the item dance in Agneepath had to do with her close friend Salman Khan. Salman was reportedly not very pleased with Sanjay Dutt getting close to his arch rival Shah Rukh Khan lately. In fact, Sanjay’s recent proximity to SRK has surprised all.

In turn, Katrina, who owes a lot to Salman professionally, reportedly chose to stay away from Agneepath. "Salman, who has always been very close to Sanjay, was miffed when the latter agreed to do a villain’s role in Agneepath, produced by SRK’s closest buddy Karan, but refused to do a guest appearance role as his father in Bodyguard. In fact, a frustrated Salman actually asked the makers of Bodyguard to totally do away with the father’s role in the film when Sanjay turned it down because he couldn’t think of any other actor for the act," a source said.

Things further worsened when SRK gifted Sanjay an expensive bike for doing a cameo in his ambitious biggie, Ra. One. However, now that Sanjay has come out and publicly declared that his ties with Salman were too deep to be damaged over such trivial reasons that Salman is his family all that seems to be a thing of the past.

An emotional Salman is reportedly back to being friends with Sanjay, with whom he will incidentally play the co- host in this season’s Bigg Boss. This, in turn, clears the way for Katrina to do an item number in a film produced by Karan’s banner, perceived all along to be pro- SRK. While Katrina is yet to sign on the dotted line, sources said it is only a matter of time now.

"Sheila ki jawani in last year’s Tees Maar Khan and her item dance in Bodyguard have made Katrina a sought- after star for item numbers. Agneepath is a huge production and Karan feels only she could do justice to the number," a source said.

The song in question is composed by rising music director duo Ajay- Atul who composed the songs of the Ajay Devgn- blockbuster Singham. The Karan Johar- produced Agneepath is a remake of the 1990 film of the same name that his dad, the late Yash Johar, had produced with Amitabh Bachchan in the central role.

Hrithik reprises Big B’s National Award- winning role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan while Priyanka Chopra is cast as the heroine. Sanjay Dutt will essay the villain Kancha Cheena, which was played by Danny in the original. Karan has insisted that his film is not a blind rehash of the original Agneepath but reinterprets the story with a new- age twist.

Katrina’s item dance, if it materialises, would be a sexy new- age twist indeed.

Katrina Kaif’s first public brush with the law was when she was visited by taxmen earlier this year, but that seems to be a closed chapter now. When she alighted from her vehicle at the Mumbai Police headquarters just a few days back, it took onlookers by surprise.

Word spread like wildfire and before long every policeman in the premises was trying to figure out what sort of complaint had brought the pretty actress there. Well, your diarist has the low down.

Apparently Katrina, who is a British national, has been making a trip to the Special Branch every six months in connection with police verification for her work visa. When she first arrived in India, Deven Bharti was in charge of the SB-1 branch and would facilitate the process.

After he was promoted and took charge as the Addl Commissioner, he was replaced by Rajvardhan. Over the years, Katrina developed a rapport with both the officers.

So even after Rajvardhan subsequently moved to Economic Offences Wing as Addl Commissioner and there is a new officer in charge of SB-1 branch, Katrina makes it a point to meet both Bharti and Vardhan for a cuppa whenever she visits police headquarters. We hear many officers are busy figuring how to crash this particular tea party.

Katrina Kaif, after going back and forth several times, had finally decided to decline Ayaan Mukerji’s offer to star in his next film opposite Ranbir Kapoor (Mumbai Mirror, 30 July 2011).

While ’date problems’ and ’pending projects’ were the major reasons cited for her refusal of the offer, the industry is abuzz with rumours of Salman Khan being the one person behind his ex-girlfriend’s decision.

Katrina, who is busy with Salman starrer Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture opposite Shah Rukh Khan was apparently asked by Salman to opt out of Ayaan’s next project with Dharma.

According to industry insiders, Salman did not quite like the idea of Katrina working with Ranbir. Katrina and Ranbir, who were dating for a while after the actor’s breakup with Deepika Padukone, parted ways in March 2011.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Katrina was taking her time to decide on Ayaan Mukerji’s because Salman had asked her to stay away from Ranbir. While she couldn’t turn down her good friend Ayaan, Katrina also had to pay heed to Salman. In fact, earlier Katrina had accepted Ayaan’s offer. But then she soon opted out of it."

The fact that Salman is not too fond of Ranbir is common knowledge in the industry. Years back, Salman had a nasty fight with the younger actor in a nightclub. Then to mend bridges, Salman sent Ranbir a painting of his grandfather Raj Kapoor. They became friends and they partied together. But Katrina’s closeness to Ranbir put an end to all of that.

Katrina on the other hand has always been close to Salman even after their romantic relationship came to an end. "Salman has always looked out for Katrina in the industry. He has been like a guide to her. She obviously could not just ignore his wishes when it came to Ayaan’s film," added the source.

A friend of Katrina maintained, "Katrina is not doing Ayaan’s film. But that’s certainly not due to Salman Khan."

You might not see actress Katrina Kaif issuing any clarification again. The actress says that there’s no point in correcting gossip that sometimes circulate around.
“What the point in coming out with a clarification. In that case, I am already fanning an existing rumour. The best way to deal with it according to me is to just let it pass,” says Katrina.
Referring to the alleged ongoing cold-war between her and actress Sonakshi Sinha, and further rumours about her not replying to Sonakshi’s apparent text messages, she adds, “What I did is not the point of contention here. The point is what I didn’t want to do. I didn’t want to show the world that it is something that bothers me. In any case, most of the times I don’t get to read or watch TV. I only get to know about such rumours when somebody tells me that he/she has read something about me. Most of the times, I tell the person not to bother about them,” she adds.
Katrina says that it is the main reason why she didn’t hop onto the Twitter bandwagon like her other Bollywood colleagues.
“We anyways talk so much about what we are doing and eating. I don’t think the audience needs to know more of us. It might be an overdose! Since I don’t want to clarify most of the things going around, coming on Twitter at that point of time doesn’t make any sense,” she says.
“I’m far too much of a private person to share everything about my life with the whole world. I’m not against who do, but it’s not something I choose,” she adds.
But the leggy beauty doesn’t want to say never.
“You can never say never. I am very active online, so you never know when I will change my mind. I recently judged an online dance show for the airline I endorse so through that process I came to know about the enormous power that internet has,” she says.

Katrina to enact Munni’s moves?
Katrina Kaif’s Sheila took on Malaika’s Munni, but will she end the item wars by turning Munni this time around?
If the latest spin from the gossip mill is to be believed, Katrina will reprise Malaika’s Munni in the Tamil remake of Dabangg, titled Osthi.
The film will have Silambarasan and Richa Gangopadhyay essaying the lead roles, but it’s now a ‘wait and watch’ time over whether Kat will make the Southern film sizzle with her Munni moves.

Coming up: Katrina’s journey in Tinseltown

Katrina Kaif readily agreed to shake a leg for Bodyguard’s title number, and didn’t even ask for a fee. Not surprisingly, her ‘friend’ Salman Khan also refers to her as part of his family. With this item number, the rumoured ex couple are back on screen together after Yuvvraj (2008), and rumours about their reunion are running strong again.

Salman-Katrina will be seen together in Ek Tha Tiger....

Ask Salman about it and he shoots back, “What’s there to react? Katrina and I are also doing Ek Tha Tiger together. Likhne waale likhenge jo unka man karega (those who have to write will write whatever they want); they have time to write such things. Why should I waste my energy on it? We would rather work harder on our films.”

A few days back, a tabloid quoted Katrina as saying thus: ‘I can’t deny my equation with him (Salman) has changed.’ But Salman isn’t amused. “What equation? I really don’t know what she said. As far as I am concerned, our equation is absolutely the same as earlier,” says the Dabangg (2010) star.
But doesn’t Salman feel such reports stem from the fact that they were in a relationship earlier? “Did I say so? Or did she say so?” he questions. “We’ve always maintained that we’re good friends and get along absolutely fine.”

And even as they shoot for Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, Kat has stated that she’s comfortable working with him. “Yes, she is very comfortable with me and my entire family. In fact, she is a part of the family. We have known her for the longest time now,” says Salman, adding further in jest, “Like in the movie, I play Kareena’s character’s bodyguard, like that I am Katrina’s bodyguard.”

Speaking of Bodyguard, Salman claims he was always aware of its potential. In fact, when the film was being made in Malayalam, he heard the script and thought of picking it up. “I haven’t seen the Malayalam version. Atul (Agnihotri) watched it, but even before he saw it, I had told him, ‘It has an amazing plot. Pick it up. Picture hit ho, flop ho (whether the film is a hit or flop), get the story,’” he says.
Considering Salman has done high-flying action in all his films, including Wanted (2009), Dabangg and Ready, is it all physically demanding for him? “The most difficult one in terms of physical strain has been Veer (2010). But so far, I am capable of doing them (stunts) physically and am getting away with it,” he says, adding, “And I say it because I’ve done all the stunts myself in my movies. So I have been extremely lucky to do all the stunts safely and without any injury.”
Excerpts from interview:

After Wanted (2009) and Dabangg (2010), will Bodyguard be your third consecutive Eid blockbuster?
Let the Friday, the film releases decide that. Everyone wants to make a film that will surpass their last films. I’m no different. And today, we have the technical know-how to up the standards but we still haven’t discovered a hit formula. So, all you can do is make a good, sensible, emotional film and leave it at that.
But the expectations from ‘Brand Salman’ have risen?
Expectations are high because people have watched my last few films. But it’s true in other cases too. For example, you always expect a little more from your girlfriend and vice versa (smiles).
Your last two films with Kareena Kapoor, Kyun Ki! (2005) and Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009) didn’t work. Will this one break the jinx?
In our film industry, certain people dismiss an on-screen pairing as panvati (jinxed) if their last few films haven’t worked at the Box Office. But I believe that if a heroine is perfectly suited for a particular role, why shouldn’t I get her? In Wanted, we cast Ayesha Takia in the lead because she fit the part. And the film was a superhit!
Is Katrina Kaif doing a cameo in Bodyguard or a special appearance in the title track?
I start out as her bodyguard so she appears in the title song, Aaya Re Aaya… to establish the fact. Later, of course, I become Kareena’s bodyguard.
Is Bodyguard a special film for you since your sister Alvira is co-producing it with husband Atul Agnihotri?
It doesn’t matter who is producing the film. A film is a film. People are going to spend money, from Rs 10 to Rs 400, to watch it. So, my responsibility is towards them. Once audiences like the film and they start coming in numbers, my responsibility towards the producer will be automatically fulfilled.
How is Dabangg 2 shaping up? Have you really written parts of the script?
Dabangg 2 is simply an extension of the first film. Chulbul Pandey is an interesting guy so I think we won’t have any problems with the character. In fact, we have finalised and locked the script of the sequel. I haven’t written anything in the script since it’s completely Arbaaz’s (Khan) film. Since Chulbul has shades of gray, it’s easily to meander into different genres — comedy, action and romance. Now that the character of Chulbul is established, we can easily take it to the next level.
We’ve heard that Chulbul is moving to a metro now?
Yes, Chulbul is moving to a bigger city. (Smiles) Now, there’s a lot more jhol in Dabangg 2.
Many feel you seem to be stuck on action films these days?
Nothing like that, every film has action, even Ready. For instance, you can’t call every film a musical just because it has 4-5 songs. In fact, I had to work harder on Ready because the action scenes had to make you laugh.

Have you lost weight for Ek Tha Tiger?
No, it’s just that I was training hard for the climax of Bodyguard and carried the lean look into Ek Tha Tiger. It has been just 25 days since I wrapped up Bodyguard.
You met Somy Ali recently in Bangkok while shooting for Ready?
Sure, I did. She flew down to Bangkok from Hong Kong because she had some work in Hon Kong. What’s the big deal?
Somy has said that Aishwarya Rai was responsible for your split?
(Smiles) Somy said it, so ask her. I don’t know anything.

Katrina Kaif is riding the highest wave of her career in Bollywood right now. With 3 big banner films in her kitty, the actor is making some heads turn on southern shores as well. Now, Kaif has been offered the popular item number from the Salman Khan hit Dabangg in the Tamil remake of the film.
"There are reports that Katrina has agreed to do the item number and if everything falls into place, then the song will be shot sometime next month," a source revealed to Mail Today.
There are no confirmations from Katrina’s camp, while she recently went on record to rubbish reports about an item number with Sanjay Dutt in Karan Johar’s remake of Agneepath.
The Tamil version of Dabangg, to be directed by Dharani, will be titled Osthi. The lead roles will be played by Simbu and Richa Gangopadhyay.
The film that hit the floors in May is scheduled for an Eid release, sometime in the end of August.
Some tabloid reports said that the item number was first offered to south siren Nayanthara. But she couldn’t commit as she was busy with her impending wedding to Prabhu Deva.
Director Dharani, who wanted to make the item number the highlight of the film, decided to import some Bollywood beauty to add that chutzpah.
Wait and watch this space to see whether Sheila travels to south India to transform in to Munni

kat_190Actor-singer Ali Zafar has rubbished rumours of a rift with co-stars Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Rumours of the rift began making rounds after his absence was noted at the music release of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. Ali explained that he could not take part in the release as he as was in London for a film shooting. He also added that once he is back in town, he would have a live promotional concert with Imran and Katrina. The stars are planning to do many such live gigs across the country as a promotional tactic.
In a song ‘Madhubala’ sung by Ali himself, he is seen tossing glasses of bhang performing a hip version of ‘Bhangra’ along with Imran and Katrina.
Speaking about the track, Ali said, “It’s a fun track that we shot over four days in Mumbai in sweltering June. Since I don’t drink, I didn’t touch the ‘bhaang’ but downed glasses of cold coffee. I lost four pounds in four days.”
Between takes on the sets of the movie, Ali used to teach Katrina to play the guitar. He said, ““I taught her a few chords. She was a diligent student during the shoot but I don’t think she’s practiced much after that,” he says.
Kat is also seen sporting a bad girl look in one of the songs in the movie. Ali muses, “I was the one who urged her to go in for a more grunge look as opposed to her usual squeaky clean appearance. Dark under eye make-up, leather and boots. It’s gone down well.”

Can anyone guess what Katrina Kaif’s favourite passtime is? Watching daily soaps. Surprised? Atleast this is what Katrina claimed when she was interviewed at Big Television Awards. And when asked as to what she watches on TV, she said she doesn’t mind watching the daily soaps once in a while.

While most celebrities refrain from committing that they ever watch TV, Katrina was rather candid. But, on second thoughts, why would she watch daily soaps? We guess she watches it to get her animated expressions right or may be to improve her Hindi.

The sultry siren Katrina Kaif woes the audience wherever she goes with her grace and beauty. No guest present at BIG Television Award could dodge her mesmerising personality as she belly danced on the song Sheila ki Jawani… The song has become synonymous with her at every event she attends or performs. Not just that, Katrina will also set the floor on fire with her performance on songs from her blockbuster hit movies like Rajneeti, Singh is King and Welcome.BIG Television Awards has been judged by an esteemed jury panel consisting of the evergreen and sensuous — Zeenat Aman; small screen’s most loved bahu — Smriti Irani and seasoned actor, director and producer — Sachin Pilgaonkar, who put their vast experience and unbiased opinions along with audiences who have voted in large numbers, to decide the winners. The evening will also witness some feisty performances by the Madhuri Dixit’s chhota packet — Mahi Vijj, Bigg Boss bride Sara Khan, chulbuli Ragini Khanna and Mithun Da’s right hand — Jay Bhanushali. So get prepared to witness Katrina Ka Jalwa on BIG Television Awards at 7 pm on August 21 on Star Plus.

Katrina Kaif is now as big as the Khans at the Box Office

So, who do you have in your film? Aamir? Salman? Shah Rukh? Katrina?” Her initials may promote Manoj Bajpai’s coaching centre chain in Aarakshan, but KK is really the new Khan in Bollywood. There has never been a question mark on whether she is sellable but now Katrina Kaif is really in a league of her own. Yes, there’s Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra but our Laila is the brand new password at the box office.Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is the latest in a series of hits, superhits and blockbusters that Kats has delivered at the box office. She is in that dream win-win zone — when her films don’t do well (Yuvvraaj, Tees Maar Khan) it is the fault of the maker or her co-stars; when they do well, she gets a queen’s share of the credit. Really, Katrina Kaif can do no wrong. Whether you are an old hand like Yash Chopra or Subhash Ghai or a new hotshot maker like Zoya Akhtar or Kabir Khan, Katrina is the choice number one. The rest can follow. So what makes Katrina tick? What is she doing right that the others have not been able to crack? Kats tells t2 she has no plan or strategy. She doesn’t even analyse the successes. She just moves on to the next project. Huh? Yes!‘there are so many battles every day...’“You know, actually when you are in the middle of it all, you don’t see it like that,” Katrina’s usual matter-of-fact, just-chill voice and words greet us on the phone. You congratulate her on ZNMD’s success and the “Thank you” is even more mechanical. As if a new TV show she features in has got good TRPs rather than her big Bollywood film making Rs 82 crore nett at the box office.“There are so many battles every day, so much work which goes on behind the scenes every day. You are constantly fighting the battle, you are constantly struggling and you are constantly working with as much dedication as you can. Okay ZNMD has done very well and you are really happy but you know that there’s the next film, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan releasing in September. You start working on that. You start thinking of how best to put the film out there.”If there’s been one word that has always come up in a sentence describing Katrina — besides “stunning”, “sexy” and “beautiful” — it’s “professional”. That’s the word you will hear if you speak to any of her directors or producers or ad filmmakers. It is that professional approach that has for years even masked her limited acting and language skills. But the nonchalance is not just professional. It is also personal. “There are so many other things... in your head and in your heart... that you can’t really sit and start thinking: ‘Oh! I have had so many hits!’ And I think that’s been a very good thing for me.” The hint of emotion creeps into her voice. “It has never let me be overhappy or overconfident about things.” character, not decoratorOne thing the half-Brit half-Indian stunner does enjoy, though, is how filmmakers do not just want to decorate their films with Katrina Kaif anymore. They are writing roles for her in Bollywood now. You really can’t imagine anybody else as the globetrotting sea-diving instructor Laila in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.“Ya, I think that is really nice,” she says, her voice now actually mirroring some excitement. “You do get a deep sense of satisfaction when you get a character which people really appreciate. Whether it’s a Raajneeti or Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or an Ajab (Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani),” she says before remembering to plug her new release. “....and that’s actually what I am really hoping happens with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.”For starters, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, the new Yash Raj Films release, is promoting the film on the shoulders of Katrina. The song Dhunki, where Katrina is seen as a desi rockstar working the crowd from stage, smoking a bidi and finally being arrested, is already a rage.“That’s not the entire film,” Katrina laughs. “That’s the portion where Dimple Dixit, my character, is in college. Dhunki is basically a college song. She is like this wild girl who plays the guitar and is in that space. So the song which goes from Delhi to Agra kind of sets up the college life. When we come back to her, it’s four years later and she is like any normal girl now. Not a rockstar anymore but her characteristics remain the same.”She isn’t that sure about where this one will go although she loved shooting for the film co-starring Imran Khan and Ali Zafar. “Even though on the surface it may look like a regulation romantic comedy, my character is completely, completely different,” Katrina explains. “Either people are going to love it or think that Katrina needs to go to a mental asylum. It’s a completely mad character... she is really wacky, really carefree in a loud way. The film is in a fun space... probably the space I like the most... from all the films I have done. That way this is a very important film for me, very important to know how my character is accepted.”It’s a no-brainer that the film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and releasing on September 9, will get a huge opening. Not only does it star the ZNMD girl but also the Delhi Belly boy. “It doesn’t matter what I think of the pair or it doesn’t matter what Imran thinks,” Katrina again switches to matter-of-fact mode. “What matters is what the audience feels about us. That is something we will only know on the Friday. We have tried our best, had a blast making the film, we have really sunk our teeth into it, we both were doing only this one film at that time. We shot in pretty rough locations, not very glamorous places... didn’t stay in glamorous accommodations.”‘this is my job...’The unsaid formula of the Katrinisation of the Bolly box office is her brilliant PR skills. For everyone who thought that a certain Mr Salman Khan would kaput her career post their break-up, he is not only doing a film with her — Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger — he even requested her to do an item number in his Bodyguard, starring Kareena in the lead.As an industry insider observes: “Everybody has camps in Bollywood but despite being Salman’s girlfriend for so many years, you still cannot put Katrina in any camp. She and her box-office success are beyond all that.”Now, Katrina has done the impossible. Yes, signed a film with Shah Rukh Khan. The woman whose birthday party started the mahayudh between Salman and SRK will star opposite King Khan in Yash Chopra’s next. She is also very smart when it comes to working with GenNext — Ranbir to Imran. “Everyone whose name you mentioned, tell me one reason why I would not do a film with them,” Katrina shoots back. “If the film has a good script and you like it and you want to do it, you do it. This is my job. This is where I am working. I haven’t had an issue with any of them that would make me not work with them.”This Dhunki girl clearly knows how to make everyone dance to her dhun.

Katrina Kaif pissed off with rumors

Katrina Kaif, whi is in catfight with Anuska Sharma for sharing the make-up man. That was a rumour and now another thing is also added that Kareena is in angered with Katrina.
Salman khan’s Sister is Katrina’s friend who produce the movie ‘Bodygaurd’ ask her to do just one “Mukha” not a full song just a opening stanza of the song.Actually that song was planned to shot with Kareena but Producer shot the song with Katrina. This makes Kareena angered like that the rumours arised.
Katrina replied to the reports as,” These rumours that make us look like children in a playground, are so disheartening. We are not like that in real life.”Katrina says, “Despite being in the industry for so many years, I have never asked for recognition.
When I see people stooping down to that level, it’s upsetting. Give me a little bit of respect. I have worked here for very long .Just because someone is poking me, doesn’t mean I have to respond. Such reports are a sign of foolishness. it’s upsetting. Give me a little bit of respect. I have worked here for very long.”

Katrina Kaif, who is paired opposite Imran Khan for the first time, turns rockstar in Mere Brother......Katrina Kaif’s decision to do two Yash Raj Films (YRF) with the warring Khans - Salman and Shah Rukh - has raised eyebrows, but the actress is unperturbed and argues there are no camps in Bollywood.

Katrina is set to start shooting with Salman Khan for Ek Tha Tiger next week and her film with Shah Rukh, which is veteran direcor Yash Chopra’s untitled venture, is expected to go on floors in a few months’ time.

"There is a problem, there is a misconception that the media has (that there is a camp system). We all have different equations. Friendly, not so friendly, but everyone respects everyone’s individuality. There are really no camps or something like that," Katrina told IANS in an interview.

New York was Katrina’s first film with YRF and after that she signed their Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and now the two films with the two Khans.

Glimpses of Katrina’s rock star look in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, where she will be seen puffing a bidi and strumming a guitar in tattered jeans and a tee, have created ripples of excitement among her followers. And the actress explains her new avatar as her endevaour to offer something fresh in each film to avoid being boringly predictable.

"Small things make the difference. You are doing two films a year. Even if you are showing something, which is a little different from the previous film, then the audience doesn’t get bored," said the 27-year-old, who has been part of the industry for eight years now.
"If I can do 15 percent better or add on something with every film, then people would not bear the impression that I am not putting in my hard work."
The directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a romantic comedy where Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar play leads opposite her.
The recent favourite of the YRF banner, Katrina believes that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is the right film to collaborate with Imran.
"It’s a romantic comedy, very exaggerated tongue-n-cheek kind. It’s a little bit larger than life, louder like my film Aajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. For Imran and me, it was a very new space. We didn’t know each other much and there had to be a fine-tuning, which eventually helped us to get into the characters that we are playing. It was a nice first film for both of us to do together," said the actress, who has so far made a successful on-screen jodi with Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.
She revealed that the film has a close resemblance to filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 classic comedy Chupke Chupke that boasts of amazing performances by Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Asrani and Om Prakash. "It’s on the line of Dharamji’s Chupke Chupke," said Katrina.
To bring reality to her character, Katrina learned to play guitar and her knowledge about the instrument helped her portray the character of a rock singer more convincingly in the film.
"I am learning the guitar. For an actor it’s really easy to be a rock star. Wear some boots, wear some jeans, wear kajal, dishevel your hair, hold a guitar and strum the strings. I can actually hold the guitar right as I know how to play it," said Katrina.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is set to hit the theatres on September 9.

1576482Actress Katrina Kaif has had an eventful journey in Bollywood and she credits all success to people who have stood by her throughout. While people have gone and come, a few of them have stood by her through her good and bad times.
Talking about it she says, “There have been different people at different times in life. My family has always been by my side, my management guys who have worked with me. You do make friends but sometimes that changes as well. Some people come into your lives and then they go away.”
As an actress she has improved and grown, but she finds it difficult to rate herself as an actress.
“I would never be able to rate myself. My job is to entertain, do a good job and get better with each film. It is the audiences decision to judge how good I am.”
While it is a life, most people dream of living, Katrina admits that it does get lonely at times, especially because of the hectic lives that actors lead.
“It gets very difficult at times. Doing a film takes up so much of your time because when you do a film you are absolutely into it. For three months that unit becomes your family and then once the film wraps up, that world ends. You are constantly on the move and that can get lonely at times but you have to understand that is how it functions and look forward.”
While talking about friends, much has been written about her apparent equation with actor Deepika Padukone. Without even battling an eyelid, she says, “Too much has been written about me and my apparent equation with Deepika and everyone. Basically anyone and everyone is written about. Whenever I interact with any of them, I am cordial and things are fine.”
While we are at it, we ask her if it is possible for two actors to be friends and she says, “That depends on every individual. You may be able to make friends with people you are working with or you may not. I guess the issue is time because we are constantly on the move. But that really is subjective.”

Actress Katrina Kaif is upset with a report that she cancelled the shoot for Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan because her favourite make-up man Subhash was unavailable as he had booked his dates for Anushka Sharma.

Katrina, 27, said people should not pull her down by writing such false stories and should give her respect considering her contribution to the industry.

"That was something really disheartening. I am not that kind of person who ever stood up and says, ’Look what I have done, look at me’ or asked for any kind of respect or recognition or walked around with any kind of ego.

"But when I see people stoop down to that level and write these kind of stories, that’s the only time I feel that I am not asking for recognition, but a little bit of respect after these years I have worked in the industry. Please don’t pull me down to this level," Katrina told IANS.

The actress entered Bollywood in 2003 with Boom. Though Boom bombed, she went on to deliver hits like Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Race and Raajneeti.

Releasing Sep 9, the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a comedy where Katrina is teamed up with Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar.

The current favourite of YRF, Katrina, will be also seen in their Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan and Yash Chopra’s next undeclared directorial venture opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She has teamed up with Anushka in the latter.

"Anushka is a lovely girl, starting off her career now," she said.

Actor Katrina Kaif may have been born in Hongkong and living in Mumbai for last couple of years working in Bollywood, but she feels for the terrible situation that London is in currently; after all, it’s a place where she spent a couple of years growing up.
“Two of my sisters live there, but they are fine. It is very shocking and also a good reminder about the volatile situation in the world. Everything is transient and unstable today in the world we live in. But my family is safe,” she says.
Katrina, who’s been in the news for doing an item number for rumoured ex flame actor Salman Khan, addresses the many stories that suggest that she’s on an item number spree.
“The one in Salman’s latest film is not an item number. It is small part in the title track. But the other rumour of doing an item number with Sanjay Dutt for the film Agneepath is absolutely untrue,” she clarifies.
The actor also denies having opted out of Ayan Mukerji’s film with Ranbir Kapoor for Salman.
“There is nothing like opting out. The YRF films — Ek Tha Tiger with Salman and the other film with Shah Rukh Khan — were commitments made long before. There are films that will be discussed. Sometimes they happen, sometimes they don’t. It’s that simple. I haven’t chosen anyone over someone else.”
What does Katrina feel when she’s called the item queen or a numero uno?
“I don’t think there is any relevance in trying to gain any position. As long as I am getting good work and am happy with what I am doing, it’s fine. I am not interested in getting any title as such. Besides, we have names, whats the point of having numbers?”
An interview with Katrina is incomplete without asking that one question on Salman, Khan, especially since her on-and-off relationship with him is constantly speculated upon.
“If you have to be sane, you have to become immune to it. If you talk about being happy in love, feeling joy in love, feeling pain in love, that’s pretty normal and every girl in the world goes through it, but writing about it, publishing it is different. My equations with Salman has not changed,” says Katrina.
“Whatever our journey has been and the changes that has taken place in our relationship, it has been very well documented. There is no avoiding that. But we know how it is and that is the way it will remain. We still continue to be friends,” she says.

Her Anglo-Indian looks have earned her many an accolade. In spite of her father being from Kashmir, Bollywood hottie Katrina Kaif had never visited the beautiful state of Jammu and Kashmir.
But thanks to a reality show shoot, she got a chance to do so.
A source from the show adds, “She was very excited when she reached Kashmir as it was her first trip here. Katrina said her father never visited Kashmir after the family moved to out, nor did she ever got an opportunity to visit, even for shoots. She said she thought that Kashmir looked like something out of a fairy tale movie!”
On her trip, Katrina says, “I mean the opportunity did not come up because obviously my family and my father have not been here in many, many years. I also feel there is a time for everything and may be this was the time Kashmir was supposed to happen.” Seems like Kat was bowled over by Kashmir.

Katrina Kaif’s success story is a combination of hard work and a heavy dose of luck. Criticised for acting, diction and language at the beginning of her career, Kaif today is in an enviable position having signed three movies with Yashraj Films, and might grab that coveted role opposite Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3. She tells Priyanka Pereira about her journey to the top and pairing with Salman Khan, though this time just on screen.

After a rather unconventional role in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara , will Mere Brother Ki Dulhan take you a notch higher?

It was a very risky role because the character Dimple did not fit in as the traditional Bollywood heroine. We had this joke going on where people told me, that after watching this film my fans are going to send me ’Get well soon’ cards--they are either going to think I am crazy or simply love the character.

Katrina Kaif has taken a dig at heroes who are much older than her in age. She says she is far more comfortable working with actors of her age. The older-men club includes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, as both the actors are quite older to her.

"I don’t think anyone will mind if I say it’s very different working with older heroes because the age difference is about 20 years, and just about two to three years with the younger heroes with whom you can be mischievous," she said.

Though Salman has been her boyfriend for several years, the actress realised this now that the age-gap is far too wide between the two.

On SRK she said: "I don’t know what it will be like working with Shah Rukh but I have heard that he makes his heroines comfortable".

Katrina Kaif, who is working with Shah Rukh and Salman Khan in different projects says its not her responsibility to facilitate a patch up between the warring Khans, after their friendly relations soured following a showdown at her birthday bash few years ago.
Katrina will be working with both Salman and SRK under Yash Raj Films banner. The film with Salman is titled, ’Ek Tha Tiger’, a romantic thriller, directed by Kabir Khan of ’New York’ fame. The film will be released in 2012.
While Shah Rukh will romance Katrina in an untitled film, to be directed by veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, who is making a comeback to direction after seven-years. He last directed ’Veer Zaara’ in 2004.
They both are my co-stars for different films and at the end of the day we go to our respective houses. It (their enmity) does not have any impact on me. And I am glad that I am working with two senior...respected professionals in the industry. I think they can handle whatever their equation is between them. I am not common between the two," Katrina said
